Joseph Ayavoro
Joseph has had an intense passion for art since the age of six years old, when he would sketch images of daily life onto paper. Everyday sights such as a mother carrying a child inspired Joseph to try to capture and preserve these small and often overlooked snapshots of real life.
Joseph is fascinated by the imagination and the ways in which people see the world. So Joseph sees his art work as a representation and reflection of life as it is. Exploring and manipulating materials such as scrap metal into his work, is just one of the methods that Joseph uses to turn his ideas into reality.
Joseph is fascinated by movement: “I believe everything moves, some through agents of weathering; others through spiritual and unseen forces.” This idea of motion is present in his art pieces, as he wants to capture real life while making it as real as possible.
Michelle Lindsay
Michelle Lindsay is a textile designer by trade and uses print, stitch and mixed media in her work to create images of women and their individual style. Michelle is intrigued by cultural heritage and how it is reflected through dress, language and personal beliefs.
Michelle takes a simple pattern or style and uses it as the base for her art work, whether that is a design for upholstery or greeting cards. This simple pattern then becomes her motif, making her artwork very recognisable.
Michelle’s designs are ultimately feminine, delicate, and soft and exude a strong sense of presence. They immediately capture the eye.
